Graduation Works Exhibition 2015, Master's Program of Architecture and Design, Kyoto Institute of Technology

The city of Kyoto is richly diverse, preserving traditions as well as attracting new ideas to encourage innovations. The works in this exhibition won an award of excellence at the 2015-16 Final Projects by Master's Students in both Architecture and Design, at the Kyoto Institute of Technology. Each of the exhibits shows how enthusiastically they worked with an awareness of issues and techniques that they acquired through their two-year study in Kyoto. The Design Factory of KYOTO Design Lab (D-lab) obviously played a crucial role in the realisation of their work.
In addition to individual research for their final project, students also actively participate in the workshops, which D-lab runs in cooperation with designers and architects invited from overseas institutions. In this exhibition, we also demonstrate the results created during the workshop BUILDING BOOKS, which was held in November 2015 in collaboration with the leading book designer, Lars Müller.
We hope that both exhibitions will allow you to enjoy the students’ emerging creativity in design and architecture.

Exhibitor: Masashi Kubo / Motono Yoshikawa / Saki Kudo / Mika Tsutai / Koji Kawabata / Hiromitsu Nakanishi / Sakiko Hayashi / Shoya Tamada
