Opened in Jingumae, Tokyo in 2004, Art-U room is the contemporary section of Art-U which is a well-known gallery in Osaka that opened in 1983. It is designed as a platform for multidisciplinary programs which cover not only fine art but design, fashion and other events and projects. It is also known for featuring a wide range of international artists, for example from Finland, Vietnam, Argentina, and Thailand.

Among the represented artists are Anu Tuominen, Vu Dan Tan, Tsang Kin-wah, Tokyo Kamen, Anthony Kleinepier/TTTVO, Tomoko Inagaki, Kamin Lertchaiprasert, Carolina Raquel Antich, Wah Nu, Atelier Bow-Wow, Fukuko Ando, Xu Zhongmin, and Le Hong Thai.
