"drawing – looking at the vacant scenery" Early in her carrier, she came into the limelight with her unique impromptu-like drawings. She was accepted at Gunma Biennale for Young Artists 2010 and participated in Aichi Triennale 2010 Exhibition. The drawing technique of Yukari is quite simple. On the white screen, she draws line automatically with pen or carbon paper in various daily situations. For instance, she produces her works while chatting or reading. When she constructs the picture plane, she avert her gaze from the paper, entrust the direction of pen to involuntary action of her hand, and draws a line as if it travels side by side with passage of time. On the constructed picture planes, bold straight lines and gently undulating lines like a hill-crest are scattered. When we stand before her works, we feel no intension to control the direction of the viewer’s eyes in them. Instead, only the vacant sceneries are outspread before us. In this exhibition, first solo-exhibition for her in Gallery Jin, 16 new drawings and 80 postcard-sized drawings will be exhibited. Concept of works: * The text provided by Gallery Jin Projects.
