When entering the gallery, it smelled slightly, but not because of rotten flowers/plants. As I walked in, I saw that something black was scattered on the floor. The smell was caused by firecrackers and the scattered material was pieces of dahlias that had been blown up by them.

Kokucho Dahlia; This deep red, popular flower, often used for weddings, has more than enough beauty as it is. He utilized one once in his work and all he had to do was just throw it away. He said, "The dahlia is at its most attractive one moment before dying". To spotlight the moment, he deliberately tried to capture the sublime new “beauty” of the dahlia just before dying in a special way through an explosion. The moment was in the morning of the 10th date of the exhibition period, July 27 2008. I went to the exhibition in the early afternoon of that day so I didn't see the dahlia before the explosion or the explosion itself (Only Azuma and a few associates witnessed the latter). I saw "something" that had already exploded and been scattered in every direction, and I could smell the explosives a little. However these impressions were enough to trigger my imagination. I was wondering about the dahlia at the moment of explosion while walking through the wreckage, which I was permitted to step on.
