Opened in Shibuya, Tokyo in September 2009 to showcase photographic works from China and other Asian nations, and relocated to Roppongi in February of 2011. Zen Foto Gallery introduces artists and their works with the aim of becoming a kind of world communication hub, especially focusing on links between Japan and China. The gallery has also held forums and events in which photographers from these two countries have had many chances for communication. Since little Chinese photography had been introduced to Japan thus far, this gallery provides us with a novel and thought-provoking opportunity to encounter such artists and their work. Among the represented artsts are Liu Zheng, Yang Yangkang, Muge, Liu Ke, and Wang Ningde. Address: Piramide Bldg. 2F, 6-6-9, Roppongi, Minato-ku, Tokyo |
