“yoridorimidori” 2009; mixed media H:16-33cm copy right(c) Natsumi TOMITA / Courtesy of Gallery Strenger Gallery Strenger is pleased to announce an upcoming solo exhibition “ Yoridorimidori (It is your pick!)” with a rising Japanese artist, Natsumi Tomita. It is she that who gives birth to and names each lifelike bird, just graduated from Tama Art University with oil painting this spring. Though she is still young at her career, she is an ecologist who revives and gives a life back to the scrap, an interactive public coordinator, also has a gift to make an art that evokes our all of the senses and rejoices them all together. Tomita is multitalented and has been showing her art in many fields. We will be introducing all brand new works, parrots, flamingos, yoridorimidori, gokigendori, a duck family and flying birds in this exhibition. With a 360-degree or 720-degree view, you will only find her superbly detailed craftsmanship, and the each gathered material has been set in the best place with perfect proportion. And these colors are just like meant to be produced to be a part of the bird. This matching is exquisitely well done. One way to appreciate these brand new life work is to list up and name what material she uses, but another.....Please be simply amazed by her talent, and what she has done or how she has worked unbelievably....This is no wonder why we are already looking forward to seeing more in the future. Reception for the artist: 16 May 6 - 8pm * The text was provided by Gallery Strenger. |
