Naoko Fukao combines two cultures, our modern abundant food life and love for pets, from her unique perspective. This time the work is ‘Monkey Biscuits’. While the Japanese Monkeys are thought to be clever and cute, they are also subjected to harmful animals and sometimes are killed for this reason. The wild monkeys can be threatening sometimes. Mass-producing shapes that have both qualities ‘Cute’ and ‘looking delicious’, she emphasises on the contradiction which modern society holds in the relationship between animals and humans.
