Kimio Fukumura’s art work begins with sticking 9mm round-shaped cardboard pieces, which are colored by silk print, onto a panel. On this flat surface, he sees a small round shape as a dot. He lines them up to make straight lines then put them together to create a flat surface. This artistic space created by various combinations of just dots, lines and surfaces is very simple. Yet it also follows a strict and certain system, and it even seems very inconvenient and heteronomous. However, Fukumura says that he gains the feeling of freedom with a hint of thrill in this relationships gained by messing and playing with the system. In this rentlessly limited and non-cheatable world, we find an infinite possibilities which capture and open our eyes. http://galleryk.la.coocan.jpInformation Provided by: Gallery K Period: May 14,2018 (Mon) 〜 May 19,2018 (Sat) |
