Masahito Akiyama is an artist who creates various sceneries by layers of accurate drawing lines using coloured pencils. His theme starts from the beauty of the mountains in his hometown, then onto the homage for the traditional Japanese paintings. And further more to the scenes of the real society, especially the light and dark side of the American contemporary history. In recent years he has been working on the theme he loves greatly - the American roots music. Earthly smells of the Blues’ early period, lives of the people, and wandering spirits. When he plays improvised acoustic blues in front of his own sceneries, the panoramic view of colours and sounds stretches out into the unknown world that invites us in.
