Numerous precisely 1mm square-shaped holes are punched onto a sheet of paper. The creation by Seiji ARUGA is beyond the works of so-called paper crafts. His world of punched, layered and folded paper fills us with overwhelming amazement. The technique alone cannot create this. He puts his incredible efforts and passion into each of his creation, and set his visions free. The new, precise and amazing world of ARUGA will be revealed after two years' absence. A reception for the artist will be held on Friday, 2 October from 18:00 onwards. * The text provided by Roentgenwerke AG. |

How does Seiji Aruga create his works? When I look at his creations, this question always arises in my mind and confuses me. He uses paper in his works. Nevertheless, his creative world which was made of paper makes me feel as if it was created using transcendental techniques created by God. Aruga’s creations need no word or explanation. Therefore, you cannot recognize the magnificence of his works without viewing them, but once you look at his pieces, you will realize the transcendent image of them. Aruga’s works make me imagine creationism. (Translated by Nozomi Nakayama)
