In 2015, KYOTO Design Lab (D-lab), at the Kyoto Institute of Technology used 3D scanning and sound recording at three Japanese gardens in Kyoto. This collaboration with Institute of Landscape Architecture at ETH Zürich led by Professor Christophe Girot used their original methodology, to produce audio-visual re-compositions of the gardens.
This exhibition introduces you to this experiment in the creation of new spatial experiences. The context is that of the relationship between gardens, architecture and urban spaces. It involves different genres of buildings of different eras from temples to townhouses to modern architecture.
The exhibition has been organized by KIT’s postgraduate students in collaboration with ETH Zürich. We hope that you will enjoy the exhibition and look forward to future results from this ongoing project.
