This show will feature the artist's most important and comprehensive series of architectural photographs taken during the duo's closely set trip to 5 countries, 6 marginal places. 8 years from the last solo exhibition, the artist, who's got high popularity with his publications Mexico Baroque, Mexico Hotels and Ultra Baroque when published in 1995-2000, will be re-introduced to the public, keeping the unique view points of the photographer and peculiarity of the subjects, but adding the in-depth insight towards those unique architectures. A remote corner of the Africa, Namibia. The country used to be flourished by the Diamond-industry has now been desertified and the art deco style houses are covered by a large quantity of sands and fall into ruins, as if it implies the inhabitants' greed projected on the gaudy houses is swallowed by the irresistible lapse of time. In addition, the dovecotes in the Aegean Islands, the licensed quarters and hearses of Japan are also represented - this HOUSE series captures the architectures not only in terms of the formality, but also as the subjects which silently but surely evoke the traces of the once-lived inhabitants. From old times, people have casted their reflection of dreams, frames and even vanity on their "house". Beyond the category of merely the architecture-photograph, the momentary emotions and transitoriness are uniquely and beautifully co-existing in this exhibition "HOUSE". To accompany with this exhibition, same titled photo book HOUSE will be released through publisher FOIL. In the exhibition, in addition to about 50 pieces of photographic works of the series, so to speak "complete version" of the photo book HOUSE will be exhibited during the show with 6 volumes, each 257 x 364 mm size, 70 pages.
