Opened in 2001 in Takasaki Tower 21. The 2ed city museum after the Takasaki Museum of Art. The museum mainly collects and exhibits modern and contemporary Nihonga that comprises Taikan Yokoyama, Shoen Uemura, Togyu Okumura, Kaii Higashiyama, and Ikuo Hirayama. It also organizes a number of education programs for the diffusion of Nihonga.
