Galerie Tokyo Humanité is pleased to announce a solo exhibition of IIJIMA Momoyo entitled MONOHARA, showcasing her new installation work using 600 ceramic bowls. This is Iijima's first solo exhibition in three years in our gallery.
"Monohara" is a place near a kiln where failed works and broken pieces are discarded. Iijima uses this keyword to think about the relationship between an individual and a family.
Iijima (b. 1982) received her Ph.D in Art from Joshibi University of Art and Design in Kanagawa, Japan. Her recent exhibitions in Shiseido Gallery (Tokyo, 2015) and gallery αM (Tokyo, 2014) were highly acclaimed.
