For this exhibition, Yugo Kohrogi primarily uses the human body with light reflected from the water’s surface of a pond or others, as a motif for his works due to his interest towards light in every aspect of his daily life. The facial expressions of his figures are mostly blank, and emphasize anonymity, which makes the exhibition more abstract than his previous works. Without applying undue creation in the sense of over-expressing some message through the poses of the human figures or with their facial expressions, Kohrogi’s oil colors, materials, and textures directly connect to human perception. By sharing in and informatizing the image with their own meanings, the audience will feel that they are the origin of the derived abstract paintings, the algorithms, and the thing that shapes the artwork coincidentally to take this specific form, inspiring the audience to imagine perfection in an infinite number of ways, while giving them the illusion of acquiring something which is fluid and vague.
