Opened in March 2010 on the second floor of 331 Arts Chiyoda, the A/A gallery is managed by the NPO "Able Art Japan" which aims at encouraging society to recognize various modes of existences and lifestyles. It was the first commercial gallery in Japan to handle mainly the work of disabled artists. Artists are introduced in solo exhibitions every six weeks, focusing not only on their existent concepts, such as outsider art or Art Brut, but also on the artists’ originality. The "A/A shop" established as the annex of the gallery is a select shop that showcases unique art goods produced in the welfare institutions in Japan. In the "Able Art Studio" on the first floor in the underground, there is an atelier in which various courses are held for all people. Address: #208, 3331 Arts Chiyoda, 6-11-14 Sotokanda, Chiyoda-Ku, Tokyo |
